A girl named after the sky
Far in the north, at the edge of a snowy forest, there is a little house with one round window. In that house lives a girl named Aurora. She is five years old, she has a head full of curls, and she wonders about everything.

"Why is my name Aurora?"
One winter night, Aurora's pajamas were on and her blanket was tucked up to her chin, but she was not sleepy. Not even a little bit. So she asked Mama a big question: why is my name Aurora? Mama smiled and told her she was named after the most beautiful lights in the whole sky. Aurora had never seen them.
That same night, a soft green glow stretched across the sky outside the round window. One little ribbon of light curled down, floated right through the window, and said hello. It was Lumi, a little piece of the northern lights.
How Lumi gave her the name Aurora Starlight
Lumi wrapped itself around Aurora like a warm scarf and carried her up into the dancing lights. Up there, Lumi told her that people call these lights the aurora, an old word that means dawn, the very first light of morning. "That's my name!" Aurora gasped. "You share your name with the sky," said Lumi.
When her eyes grew heavy, Lumi carried her home and tucked her in. "Will you come back?" Aurora mumbled. Lumi left a little light in her star clip and gave her a new name to go with it: Aurora Starlight.
The star clip that twinkles when magic is near
Ever since that night, Aurora's star clip holds a little piece of the northern lights. Whenever it twinkles, something magical is about to happen: she might shrink to the size of a bee, float up into a rain cloud, or meet a shadow that wants to play. When the star clip twinkles, a new adventure begins.
